What is Art Clay Silver?  Art Clay Silver is a pliable,aqueous clay that transforms to 99.9% pure silver when fired at a high temperature.  It is made of fine silver particles, water and organic binders.  When fired, the organic binders burn off leaving pure silver.  Make easy, free=form pieces with Art Clay Silver that would be difficult to make using traditional silver-working techniques.  Because of minimal shrinkage, Art Clay silver retains its fine details.  It is easy to fire in the kiln.  Hold time at  1600F is on 10 minutes.  You can also fire small pieces of Art Clay Silver with a micro gas torch.  The silver will have a white, oxided surface after firing.  Polish with a wire brush, wet-dry sandpaper, burnisher or tumbler.  Art Clay Silver comes in three forms, clay, paste and syringe.

The standard product.  Most shaping is done with this type.  20 grams.Low Fire Slow Dry Clay consists of pure silver particles, a binding agent and water. During firing, the pure silver particles solidify. This product is pure silver (99.9%) after firing. The special formula of this product allows for combination with glass, porcelain and ceramic materials, and is also suitable for firing with sterling silver findings or wires. The Low Fire Slow Dry Clay contains a moisturizing binder to keep the clay from drying while working. The moister formula allows for braiding, weaving, and generally gives the artist up to 4 times more working time. Working time may vary by the users' environment. It is a wonderful product for those who live in dry climates.

THIN FIRE SHELF PAPER

A heat-resistant light weight ceramic impregnated shelf paper that provides excellent separation between kiln shelf and glass or Silver Clay Art in kiln firing applications up to 1600F.  Use as an alternative to kiln wash.  Provides a smoother finish on the backside with less binder burnout odor, and improved surface release.  Upon firing, paper disintegrates to a dusty tissue.  Use respirator during disposal.    Sheets are 20 1/2" squares, 1/16" thick.
